i downloaded 9.0 but the cd's keep giving me errors during install. the OS doesn't boot after that and the only way to fix it is to format & reinstall. its probably either my old burner or the really old cdrom on my server. heh

How do you change the options of services that are started at boot? Its not in linuxconf or mandrake control center... I can't find it anywhere!

reason:
I have "vncserver" starting at boot but I need to add an option to it so it looks like "vncserver - interface 192.168.0.1"

thanks for letting us know! mSparks tends to forget .zip files need to be uploaded in binary instead of ascii. if i see him online, i'll let him know. otherwise, i'm sure he'll be checking this board soon. you don't need the client to play on the servers he posted. you can give that a try while the ...

It seems strange asking a question on a forum I'm staff on but... I have a box running Mandrake 8.2 and I want it to act like a firewall & router for my network. It has 2 network cards (one for the internet, one for the LAN) both working with Linux (the drivers loaded correctly). How can I configure...

I've been using this free one: AVG Antivirus It seems to be pretty reliable. I haven't had any problems with it yet. Personally, I don't trust McAfee anymore since the last time it messed up my PC. The firewall is more of a problem than an aid and...

I haven't ripped DVDs myself but I have a very helpful site for you that should answer your questions. VCD Help There are actually 2 solutions for backing up DVDs to CDs. 1. You can use a codec like DivX to compress the video into .avi format that...

I know a bit of VB but I'm mostly a C++ programmer. I'll try to answer your question as clearly as I can but mSparks (or someone else that knows VB) might have to throw in some extra information. C++ is an extremely flexible language. You can use it for almost everything from games, to large databas...

smurph.dnsalias.com will be down from the 24th (probably late at night for you), until feb 2nd. we have a week vacation from school and they're kicking us out of the dorms :(. this will also give me a chance to figure out what's causing those lag spikes. in the meantime, try the other server mSparks...

the bots aren't staying on the server when the map is changed by "sv nextmap" or roundlimit has been hit. they do stay on if you use the "map" command.

i wasn't running a client either time although it happened again when was running a client (so that's 3 times now). looking at the scoreboard it seems either someone had just connected or one of the bots hadn't disconnected. it was very strange. also, i'm getting massive amounts of lag at the beginn...
