i'm sure you've all heard of XHTML. not many people know what it is though so here's some insight: XHTML is the creation of a few large internet corporations trying to make a standardized web programming language. what most people don't understand that it's still HTML! the only differences are a few...

my uni blocks the IRC protocol and all related ports so a normal IRC client like mIRC doesn't work. after a little searching around i found a workable solution: <a href='http://cgiirc.sourceforge.net' target='_blank'>http://cgiirc.sourceforge.net</a> if you know how to install CGI scripts and have a...

aq2 doesn't freeze, its just working very hard to compile a route file. that's why crtcompile.exe is included. run it after installing before you try to play a game. fog: the implementations of fog that i've seen are very basic and crude. fog shows up everywhere, even in-doors. i think that's why it...

actually, it would be better to stay away from lower pak numbers to sustain compatability w/ aq2. our players can install the map paks and some others w/o interfering with TBM material.

off the subject: i can't view .pcx files in linux (or mozilla at least). anyone got a plugin?

he mentioned uploading the next release last tuesday but he never let me know if (or where) it ever went live. he's been gone on business since then. i'm sure he'll stop back here soon after his return.

the majority of aq2 (and q2) maps have rediculous proportions. the average door is twice the size it needs to be  . thus when you convert a map from another game, it often looks kinda goofy... i'll have to try that map out. i never liked it much in CS since there are really only a few paths you...

agreed... i still don't know VB and have no inclinations to learn it except for the facts that you've stated. VB might get my foot in the door somewhere, perhaps its worth learning. however, some smart company might frown when they see VB on an application and brush me off as a VB programmer "like a...

yes, but as we all know, a C/C++ program, for example, can give you virtually the same end result with little sacrifice of speed and memory compared to an assembler/machine code program can. in this case, its easier for the programmer (you don't have to think about moving to/from memory & registers ...

gibb are random i believe. or were, i should say, in earlier versions of aq2. when they got rid of it, HC's and sometimes shotguns would launch bodies above the sky and they'd float up there. hehe... those were the days IMHO, there's nothing you can do to change a FPS to make it more attractive to w...

do they avoid human players too? a few times i'd get hung up w/ a bot while sniping or just sneaking around. and of course they always shoot me in the back of the head :S. i haven't had time to play RC1 so i suppose i should shutup until i do ;).

yeah, new route files will help. on a lot of maps, i've noticed bots opening the door and then jumping back and then walking through the door. i'm not sure if that's in the route or if its programmed to do that. that doesn't work for all doors though obviously since they don't all open at the same s...

route files come w/ each release. there aren't separate downloads. there are old ltk route files available at <a href='http://www.actiongames.co.uk/tnn' target='_blank'>ActionGames: TNN</a> in the LTK section yes, old ltk route files work w/ TBM, but the first time you run the map, it'll take a whil...

kids.. heh just thought i'd add that software mode is still available for ppl w/o good graphics cards. however, all this tweaking does put more burden on machines that can bearly run openGL as it is. you bring up a good point. i don't know a whole lot about the graphics side of TBM so idk what else ...
